It’s important we are a good fit for working together. For you, to learn about me and my approach, and whether it feels comfortable for you. For me, to learn about you as well. You’ll have some time to ask questions, let me know what’s going on for you.
We spend extra time in our first session together, to get to know one another a little, to understand what’s most important to you, the focus of our work together. What you’re most concerned about, having difficulty with and what strengths you have that we can build upon.
Through listening and inquiry we will explore practices that are appropriate, helpful and connected to your focus or goals. From there, you’ll be provided an individualized program to take home.
It’s important you have time to practice the home program, so we generally meet again in another week or two, for follow-up.

We’ll review our work together from the first session and see ‘where you’re at’ today and go from there.
I don’t use a template, or ‘one particular plan’ for a ‘particular condition’ but rather aspire to listen well and understand what is most important to you and be most helpful, in each session.
Again, there will be initial discussion between us, followed by practices and then time given to review your new, updated home program.
When working 1:1 with someone it is common to gain immediate relief from symptoms (which for most of my clientele, is pain) in the very first session together.
Which is great.
You might be someone who visits various therapists for symptom relief. You have a massage, a treatment, an ‘adjustment’ and similarly there is relief. And, then you must go back. Again, and again.
My goal is to help bring awareness to what is creating or bringing about the symptom.
What is the underlying issue at hand? What might be contributing factors unique to you?
Which is why I suggest if possible, committing to working over a 2-month time period with me (6 sessions). Two months may seem like a long time at first, but not so much if it helps over the long term. For example, if you commit to two months and then get to live your life with a little more ease for the next 30 years, that seems like time well spent.

What does this look like?
Over 2 months we will have an hour together once per week, for the first month (1.5 hours for the first session). You choose the days and times that work best for you. Then for the remaining month we will meet for an hour every two weeks, for a total of 6 sessions. The time in-between is important as you will have opportunity to practice, to incorporate what we do in the session, into your life. Of course, you will also be able to reach out for anything in particular, in between.
