These are unprecedented times. You might be someone who’s had trouble with sleep for a while now, years perhaps. Or this could be a new experience for you.
It might be helpful to know first, that you are not alone. Also, that’s it’s not surprising this is a problem for many (30% of adults) under normal circumstances let alone with how lives have all been affected over the past months. Added stress, uncertainty, loss of predictability and routine does play a role in sleep. Stress and its affect on your body’s systems is probably the most common contributing factor. No wonder, this might be a struggle.
Yet, there are ways to influence the effects of stress. You can change or influence your own physiological response to stress. As you know, life IS stressful and there will be challenges all along the way.
This is not all about stress, however. There are other ways you can influence your sleep patterns, behaviors, thoughts about sleep. Ways to break the cycle of sleep disruption > fatigue > worry about sleep disruption > worsening sleep patterns… and on it goes.

What you will BE DOING
Learning about sleep. Basics of sleep systems, mechanisms, and how you have some control and influence over these.
You’ll experience various practices, to shift your nervous systems response to stress. Simple, easeful practices that can be used to help with relaxation, stress, and most importantly sleep.
Relaxation and/or distraction techniques to help you sleep better, or cope if you are waking in the night.
A place where where you can connect with others or ask questions.

- Week 1 – General Sleep Hygiene & Using a Compassionate Approach
- Week 2 – Stress and the Nervous System: The Effect on Sleep
- Week 3 – Sleep Systems: Circadian, Homeostasis, Hyper Arousal
- Week 4 – These Uncertain Times: Agency, Control, Transitions, Routine
What you will RECEIVE
1 hour of video presentations. Each week, about 10-15 minutes in length. Information and education to help you understand sleep, the science and research behind it and why this is important.
Over 2 hours gentle movement and other practices. This includes approximately 20 – 30 minute practices each week.
Additional Resources: Based on the topic each week, there will be links to videos, visuals, research, additional practices to explore.
All this for only $20 per week. You can choose to pay at once or split it into 2-payments. If finances are tight, reach out to me below. If resources are plentiful, it would be great to sponsor someone else. My hope is this accessible to anyone who might benefit. Affordable and also accessible as you can participate from your own home, at your own pace.
Who this is for
You are someone who has had issues with sleep for some time now, feeling stuck and that you can’t do anything about it.
You are willing to spend a few minutes a day, engaging in some practices. It doesn’t have to take long, but there is a need to apply what you learn and experience.
You can bring some curiosity, perhaps challenge some long-held beliefs about sleep, your thoughts and behaviors around sleep and what is possible.
Who this might not be for
You are looking for a quick fix, or to be ‘fixed’.
I truly don’t believe you or anyone else is ‘broken’ or needs ‘fixing’. Rather can you get curious, explore and uncover some contributors and/or retrain how your sleeping patterns, the inability to fall sleep, experiencing disrupted sleep, or early waking.
You are looking for the ‘one thing’ that will change everything.
If there were one thing that worked for everyone, we would probably not have 30% of our adult population living with sleep difficulties.
Week 1 begins February 16th, 2021. We’ll meet on zoom at 7:30pm ET, but if you can’t make the specific time a recording will be available the next day on the Teach:able platform. Along with any other related information, resources, practices.
It’s important to PRACTICE what is provided week, by week. Though afterwards, you can go back and review anything at any time. Access will be available for 30 days after the program finishes and much of the content will be downloadable, so yours to keep forever.
